And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.' Matthew 28:18-19
Baptism was given to us through the example and direction of our Savior Jesus Christ. To honor the sacrament of Baptism, we observe “Baptism Sundays” on the second Sunday of each month at our 10:15 a.m. service. This emphasis allows us to be more intentional in centering the liturgy and focus of the service on Baptism.
Of course, as with all things in the church of Jesus Christ, grace abounds. If someone has a particular date on which they desire a Baptism to occur that does not fall on the second Sunday, please contact the pastors for the suggested date, as that date may not be available. Rest assured that Baptism is a joyful act of God and the church, and we can expand our observance of it to other times as the need arises. But remember to bring your umbrellas on the second Sunday of the month, because it’s going to be wet!
